Charlie Miller Managing Directors celebrated another year of cinematography with invited guests, talent and VIPs at the Closing Night Gala of the Edinburgh International Film Festival, with an unexpected blast from the past.
Jason and India Miller were delighted to attend the evening and had an unexpected meet up with writer/ director/ actor, Pollyanna McIntosh. This came as a welcome surprise as Pollyanna was a previous Charlie Miller model over 20 years ago.
In Edinburgh for the UK Premiere of her new movie Darlin’, Pollyanna is now based in Los Angeles. She is well known for her roles in The Woman and The Walking Dead.
Jason Miller commented on the evening stating, “We were so happy to be official hair sponsors for Edinburgh International Film Festival again this year. It was really great to reconnect with Pollyanna after all these years and to see how successful she is within the film industry.”
Charlie Miller hairdressers styled the gorgeous Pollyanna several times during the 12-day festival.
For Pollyanna’s In Person interview, stylist Lynsey Wilson used the Hot Tools 25mm wand to add bend to Pollyanna’s cute bob. She dressed it out with a wide tooth comb and finished with L’Oréal’s Savage Panache. Finally she teased the ends upwards with some Infinium L’Oréal hairspray.
For Closing Night, stylist Rowan Ireland gave Pollyanna a simple, yet sophisticated hairstyle. Firstly, Rowan used thin GHD’s to give the hair a poker straight look. Next she applied a serum for that instant shine. Lastly, to finish off the look, Rowan applied anti-frizz hairspray to keep her hair looking sleek all night long.
Updo’s & Blow Dry’s
Stylists Michelle Brash and Stephanie Skellett styled the looks for award-winning English actress, Katherine Parkinson and fashion blogger Fiona Ufton. Fiona attended the Opening Night Gala with her actor/ director partner Jason Connery.
To achieve Katherine’s style, Michelle simply dressed up her natural curls into an elegant updo. Firstly, she used GHDs to bring the curls back and to give a natural gloss to the look. She then used Shu Uemura’s Essence Absolue to give the hair a drink, before pinning the curls back with Kirby grips. The look was finished off with a little hairspray to set everything in place.
